Peer Review Process
The article sent to the Journal of Language Pedagogy and Assessment will go through two review processes: pre-review and review. The pre-review process of the article is done by the managing director and includes:
- Focus and Scope: The article being sent should be under the Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Analysis; focus and scope can be seen here. The article outside the scope of the journal will be declined.
- Plagiarism Check: Plagiarism check and article similarity are done using Google Scholar and itenticate or other similarity checkers with a maximum score of 20%. Articles with a similarity check above 20% will be returned to the writer for revision.
- References: references used in the article are a minimum of 10, consisting of 80% primary and 20% secondary sources. References use IEEE style and are made by using references managing software like Mendeley.
- Template: the submitted article should follow the template of the Journal of Language Pedagogy and Assessment, which can be seen and downloaded here.
If something is not in accordance with the four components, the article will be returned to the writer for revision. The writer is given time for seven days to revise the article and send it back.
When the four components in the review process are fulfilled, then the article will continue to be reviewed by the reviewer through the editor. The substances review process is done by two reviewers in Double Blind Peer Review. The reviewers can give recommendations such as:
- Accept Submission: The article is accepted to be published without having substance revision.
- Revision Required: the article with minor revision, the article is sent to the writer to be revised (when the writer has sent the revision, the article can be accepted to be published)
- Resubmit for Review: The article needs major revision. After revision is done by the writer, the article is resubmitted to the reviewer to be reviewed again ( maximum three times resubmit); if the article is not quite right in substance after the fourth review, then the reviewer is allowed to recommend Decline Submission.
- Resubmit Elsewhere: in substance, the article is considered less suitable and suggested to be submitted to other journals.
- Decline Submission: The article is rejected by the reviewer to be reviewed for two reasons: (1) the reviewer rejects because of a reason (not related to article substances), and then the article is sent to another reviewer. (2) A rejected article in substance is considered less suitable to be published in the journal.
ARTICLE REJECTION
Manuscript rejection or manuscript cancellation in the Journal of Language Pedagogy and Assessment consists of rejection or withdrawal without a fine and rejection or withdrawal with a fine. Withdrawal without a fine happens because of three things, those are:
- Do not follow the focus and scope.
- The writer does not revise the article in the pre-review and review stages at the specified time without any reason.
- The article does not pass the pre-review stage three times
- Article rejection by recommendation of the reviewer related to substances/content of the article
Rejection or withdrawal with a fine happens because of two things, those are:
- A writer that takes his writing with any reasons when the article has been proceeding (enter the pre-review stage by the managing director).
- There is duplication in publication, where the writer does submit an article to several journals, one of which is the Journal of Language Pedagogy and Assessment, or the article has been published in another journal and re-submitted to the Journal of Language Pedagogy and Assessment.

Article withdrawal after being processed or duplicated in the publication is a waste of time where the managing director, editor, and reviewer have engaged in meaningless activities, so in this case, the writer will be blacklisted with consequences; the writer will be blacklisted from Journal of Language Pedagogy and Assessment, so the writer cannot submit the article.
