Abstract

Tajen Village possesses significant tourism potential. However, it receives limited tourist visits and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Additionally, the level of public awareness regarding tourism development is still low. To unlock its potential, Tajen Tourism Village requires targeted development efforts, including various training programs. This Community Service initiative focuses on providing homestay management training to the local community. Tajen Village was chosen as the location for this activity as a continuation of previous socialization efforts. The village demonstrates strong potential for tourism development, reflected in the community's enthusiasm to host tourists in their homes. Many residents have already started establishing homestays using their existing resources. Through the training, the community has gained valuable insights into homestay management. While tourists generally appreciate the authentic experience of staying in local homes, the training identified key areas for improvement, including providing clean linens, maintaining toilets that meet acceptable standards, and ensuring clean and functional kitchens. The primary outcomes of this Community Service activity include an enhanced understanding of cleanliness and its implementation in managing homestays. Furthermore, the activity has contributed to increasing the community's readiness to welcome both domestic and international tourists, thereby strengthening Tajen Village’s position as a developing tourism destination.
